I had a 18x18x24 exo terra laying around and i was bored one night and decided to make a little setup. I have a basking lamp on top, a UVB 5.0 bulb, and a night glo bulb. I have a waterfall in the bottom, and a dripper in the back. All the plants are nontoxic and i made some little poles in the terrarium to climb on. I havent put the carpet in yet but will soon and i was just wondering if it would be ok for some species of chameleon and if it was good enough. Suggestions or comments would help... :D

Don't need a nightglo lamp. The waterfall is just a bacteria machine, you don't need that.
If you change the 5.0 to a 2.0, you can put some pygmys.

If you want to put pygmies in there, in addition to the changes already suggested, you would need to put proper substrate on the bottom. You can do a quick search for that. Please don't use "reptile" carpet on the bottom. It's just another breeding ground for bacteria.

Those hoods support swirly compact UVB coiled bulbs.....coiled UVB bulbs cause eye issues in chameleons. Only use linear tube 5.0 bulbs. Reptiglo or reptisun only. And as stated.waterfalls are bacteria breeding grounds....and are not worth it. Take it out.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Read post #29 in the link I previously posted. I have used and still use a compact on certain species as Chris has and does. I have used them with success on Pygmies and currently Kinyongia, I also plan to use one with Hoehnelii in a setup as described in that thread. It is true that the linear bulbs are most recommended and I use them on all my other chams.

The OP would benefit from reading that thread.

Because of all the buzz surrounding it. I will never trust them until the kinks are absolutely 100% out. I just can't do it. The thought of possible harm....scares me.

appreciate it i just didnt know which cham would do good. ima takethe waterfall out and find something for substrate. i just gotta find some way to get a pygmy now lol.

For substrate, I would use Hydroton Clay Pebbles 1 to 2 inches and then cover it with a layer of screen and then use some organic soil Like ABG mix from Josh's Frogs (This mix was invented and named after the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Makes a great substrate for frog tanks. Holds moisture well, drains easily, and lasts long).

I used that, and all my plants are thriving with it. Oh and my pygs also.
