Will only eat crickets

So Loki (veiled male chameleon almost 4 months old) will only eat crickets....I bought him wax worms and he ate one and then wont touch them...they just die in the cage so I stopped putting them in there....I ordered some phoenix worms online that should come Friday but I don't know if he will eat them or not.

I see everyone saying that they need a variety of live food to be happy and healthy so how do I get him to try new things....he is worse then my kids lol....I cant do roaches because they are illegal in Canada....which sucks because the crickets are such a pain (I have so many with no legs because they rip them off when im trying to pick them up lol)

Any suggestions????

I would just keep trying different options. Just because he doesn't want wax worms doesn't mean he won't like any other type of worm. I would try Silkworms if possible, as they are very beneficial to a chameleon unlike mealworms or something which should only be used as treats.

Thanks for the reply....I tried to get silk worms but the pet store I found that carries them was out so I will get some next time.

Are the phoenix worms ok to give him everyday? I have read conflicting information....if he likes them that is......I know that meal worms are just treats and he doesn't like them anyways lol.....

Picky Picky little man I have :p

I have a picky eater too and I like to provide varied feeders to keep him interested. Phoenix worms are high in calcium and I was told by my vet that they were a healthy feeder for regular use- they are just not very "meaty" :) My guy will eat silkworms and small hornworms as well. According to my vet another healthy worm choice is butter worms and my guys love them. Here is a link to an article on feeder nutrition:
