Why isn't his color good?

I took in my son's Panther about 3 weeks ago now. He was dehydrated and skinny.

Misting cage religiously, also has a dripper and he's getting showers.

UVB bulb always replaced every 6 months . Cage temp correct. He's getting calcium with D3 twice a month. Regular calcium daily with crickets, butter worms, horn worms (when available) .

He's so much better! His appetite is great, eyes were so sunken, but almost look normal again.

He was almost gray with a little bit of green, but he doesn't look gray anymore.

I'm going to post pictures of him in progression over the past 2 years so you can see how amazing his color was, and how healthy he was over all.

My question is, what is the cause of his color not being so vibrant ? Is it just time needed still?

He still looks sickly to me. The picture of him in front of the mirror is why I say this. He looks skinny and depressed. He doesn't even care about the other cham. More time and rehab is definitely needed. Might want to do a little bloodwork too, to make sure his organs are all working well. Being so badly emaciated and dehydrated, he may have organ damage. Good luck and keep us posted!

I've only had him 3 weeks. He has shown a lot of improvement already.
He is eating a lot every day, but he won't put the weight on that quickly. When he eats now, he turns a nice happy red under his chin
He has gotten more active and less lethargic too.

When is last time he went for a vet check up?
He looks on the skinny side and dehydrated showing on his tail bone n his eyes.try get some H2O in him asap along with a good vet check up.
He is getting a lot of hydration now: showers, misting, and his dripper.
He was so much worse 3 weeks ago as far as his sunken eyes and being so skinny.
I've talked to the local reptile specialist about him, and his diet and hydration and they say he seems to be on the right track.

I wasn't supposed to be his "owner" actually. I brought him home to clean his cage for someone who was going to buy him from my son. When I saw his condition, I told the man that I needed to keep him until his health was better. I was completely honest with him and he was very appreciative.
Now I'll admit, I've completely fallen in love with this reptile He is the most amazing thing! And he knows me and trusts me, which is totally cool. Maybe he would be that way with anyone that was holding crickets up by the leg so he could eat them, I don't know
Once he is healthy again, I'm not sure I'll be able to part with him

I already have an Ambanja Panther and just recently took in a veiled with MBD to rehab. I've only had him 2 weeks but I am already attached to the little booger!

You will want to add a multivitamin to your supplement schedule twice monthly. We use sticky lounge farms miner_all. Keep feeding him a variety of feeders and over time with each shed his color will improve. Keep up the good work.
