I think some people may prefer I wear a mask, even before COVID.
Dragon hisses at me regardless.
Dog doesn't bark at anybody—he's a Lab. He just wags & licks them to death—even through a mask.
The Missus sometimes barks and hisses at me, but it doesn't have anything to do with a mask. I just figure it's my fault whether it is or not...
See this is frustrating to me.... And I really hope you are being sarcastic.
My mother is high risk and lives with my daughter and I. We have done everything correct! I made her stay home for the first 8 weeks. Once she started going out we both had masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. Mind you by going out I mean only to the grocery store and pet store.
We have now been sick since Thursday and they could not get us tested until tomorrow morning. We have a lot of people here that just walk around with out them. Walk right up next to you in the store and reach across you while your getting your own items. No mask no nothing. So for my mom who is high risk how is this fair? I have to be equally as careful going out so that I do not bring it home to her.
It is not just about protecting yourself it is about protecting others. Do I like feeling like I am suffocating while wearing a mask? NO. But now we are sick. All symptoms line up with covid. I am over here hoping it is just a common cold. Or if it is covid we sail through without issue. This idea of the numbers being false is really messed up for those who have lost loved ones to this. Kinda like spitting on their graves.

The Missus & I are both high risk due to age & medical conditions. We haven't been out of the house (except to pick up groceries, and the dog needed surgery) for months. When we do go out, it's masks, goggles, gloves, and a can of disinfectant wipes. (Yipes!)
I had some trouble breathing through the first mask the Missus made, but she's working on a new design as I type this, and so far, the fittings are going much better (though this mask design makes me look like Shredder... )
The new pattern was allegedly designed by an engineer named Jesse, hence it's known as the "Jesse Mask". Lots of... breathing room, if you catch my drift.
Beman, I hope you & family are OK. It's scary out there. Be well.

It drives me insane when I hear people say that covid isn’t any worse than the flu. It attacks the lungs worse than any common flu. Not to mention we do have flu shots, some effective antivirals to help if you get flu, immunity to those strains that we’ve gotten earlier in life and the entire world isn’t at risk all at the same exact time. Over 90,000 deaths in the US so far and still climbing. Yes, wearing a mask totally sucks. Needing mechanical ventilation or not breathing sucks even worse. Taking chances with the lives of the high risk is totally selfish and wrong. Wear a farking mask and wash your hands.

Everytime you bring up the fact, how many kids/young people die vs flu... everyone gets quiet. You people are being shortsighted, we're bankrupting our country, turning it upside down, and I personally worry for the future of my kids. Compromised people should be social distancing, not healthy individuals. They need to teach people to take care of their health and immune systems as well. @Beman I feel for you as a friend, but your emotional stories are exactly what they play on to take away our rights. You could literally insert a heartfelt story regarding so many other things, flu, guns, alcohol, cars, etc. Should we take away all of those and lock every one down for that? I'm not saying help shouldn't be available for your mom, not at all. There's a middle ground between changing everything and doing nothing IMO

And guess how many died that are OVER the average age of living vs not? Most get over it just fine. Few others don't, it's unfortunate, but most have lived long lives. Take care of your immune system! The flu kills younger people every year who's lives are more valuable. Funny thing is, most the older folks in my family/community get this and aren't about giving their country up over it.

Anyway, I'm done ranting about covid. I like you all and can agree to disagree, I just have trouble keeping my mouth shut on this. I'm not saying I don't care about older people, most my family here is old, but we need to look past some of this media hype and see what's really going on.

Ok and can you tell me how the compromised are supposed to distance themselves from the "healthy individuals". When we have rude people that actually think its funny to cough next to older people that are just trying to get their groceries and leave??? They actually laugh after doing it. Sure hope they are healthy! Not to mention it is not just elderly or compromised getting covid and dying. It is the young and people our age.
I do not like how this is damaging our economy any more then you do. I think it is absolutely horrible. I hate how this has impacted my daughter and her education.
But I should not have to worry about my mom becoming ill because some jerk thinks he is fine to walk around with out a mask a foot away from my mother. Why should my mother. MY FAMILY! be at risk because others do not see that their actions directly impact others. All cases in my county are community transmission. Those "healthy" people thinking they are fine just spreading it all around.
So sorry you feel your rights are being taken from you... I feel as though mine are as well. My ability to feel safe in my community. So while others decide that they do not want to wear masks and social distance they take away my rights as well.

The reality is your not safe. You never will be no matter how much social distancing or mask wearing goes down.
They just had the NY study 66% of those with serious infection, have stated they were self QTed and had not left the house at all.
Virus is going to spread, if its your time to go, its your time to go. That is the simple reality here. Newer studies are showing that the death rate is .1% just like the Flu.
You will not escape sickness, you cannot fight fate. Disease and sickness, and even death are part of the natural cycle of the world. Everything we have done has changed nothing. Stopped nothing, it has been proven this did not dent the infection at all.
It was the media they love doing this. Remember the "Vaping" pandemic of 2019, everyone was going to die if they vaped. Nevermind the fact that was utterly unture, and a small section of Illegal Marijuana cartridges with Vit E solution in their VG was the problem. The CDC said this after the 5th case, and the media still forgot to mention that and hid that fact for months.
Your scared because you want to be scared (not just you, people as a whole). Not because there is something to be scared of. The media is selling fear and your buying, do your research, look at the REAL facts, and the studies that are saying this has been hogwash since the start and you wont be afraid anymore.
Litteraly the best quote for this entire situation. Which I am sure everyone will know.

Also on that note, I am way more concerned with the Admitting of the UFO footage, by the Pentagon than i ever was with Covid. That seems to have slipped everyone's radar during Covid Panic, the US Govt just admitted to having Footage and more of Aliens... and yet no one is talking about it.
