White Bird of Paradise?

My mom came home from Home Depot with a small White Bird of Paradise plant I thought it would look cool in Bella's enclosure but I wanted to make sure it was safe for her before I put it in there.

I have cats and it was said to me that this plant is toxic for cats if they eat it. But I am not sure how it is with chameleons...
My friend's birds had unpleasant encounters with this plant, too. So I'd rather not to give it into chams enclosure...
