Can anyone tell me which species of chameleon this is, and whether it's a male or female?

Found near Mombasa, in Kenya. Its colours vary from pale green to green with black spots, black rosettes, a few speckles of pink or white and, when angry, a white throat lined with orange.

Thanks!

It is a male Flap-necked Chameleon (Chamaeleo dilepis). The taxonomic validity of Chamaeleo roperi and the other C. dilepis subspecies that some have considered full species are questionable as many of the descriptions contradict the type specimens or otherwise lack diagnostic characters sufficient for differentiating them. As a result, many researchers now regard them as forms pending additional study to more accurately define them.
