Which Chameleon should I get?

Hello! I am in the process of looking for a chameleon to put into my 4x2x5 custom enclosure. I have been looking around and I see so many names and faces of beautiful chams but still have the heartbreak in only choosing one. This enclosure was originally planned for my previous Cham but he unexpectedly passed and I couldn’t upgrade his xl reptibreeze. I have experience with chams and have been around this community for many years and I think I could take something challenging. I could post enclosure photos…

Here are some photos…

Right now the only lights that are in the enclosure are Sansi Grow lights. I have my old uvb and basing bulbs and fixtures but I will be getting a longer uvb for this larger enclosure. There are also two mist king nozzles in both corners to provide hydration. Lastly, the sticks are in the testing stage, I will add more as the plants fill in

Whoa, THAT is an incredible cage! What is the background made of? Is the display part still glass or did you replace it with screens? How did you incorporate drainage?

As far as which lucky Cham gets to call it home, depends on what your heart wants. I'm sure whichever you land on will happily wonder about in there.

Thank you all for the kind words! The back is made from expanding foam. The front and top are all screen and as for drainage… I have no idea lol.
Congratulations! You DIY custom built enclosure looks great.

Have you got idea's of what species of chameleon you want to keep in the enclosure?

Best Regards

I was looking for carpet chameleons but I don’t know if they’re too small as I would like to get a juvenile vs full grown. Also, I couldn’t find any captive bred.
Well done with your enclosure... My biggest piece of advice is buy from a reputable breeder and pick a species that will do well with your ambient humidity and temps.
I live on the cost of the Atlantic and have great summer temperatures (hot days cold nights) but have horrible winters (really cold) My past chams have done alright with slightly altered temperatures especially during the night but I try to replicate the outside weather condotions

If you want to play hide and never find go with a carpet cham! 😆 that enclosure is awesome for that game. Jk- a carpet would be great but their lifespan is rather short. I personally think an ambanja would look amazing in there! One of Ready’s Rainforest or Frams chams, they are stunning.
Whatever you decide to go with it will be very happy in that beautiful enclosure.

That perfect for the main popular chameleons-Veiled or Panther.
Maybe vote for the latter but if maintaining a stark temperature difference isn’t an issue-Jackson’s.
Or even what I have desired-OUSTALET’S CHAMELEON
