Hi everybody!

When should i start being worried?
My female has gone with the eggs for 26 days and ive seen her att the bottom of the cage two times. But she doesnt seem to know that the laying container is where shes supposed to lay her eggs. She wants even lower than the egglaying cont.

What to do? Should i wait until day 30 , then put her in the container with a lid?

Help please! :)

David, I am having the same issue with one of my females.

Gestation is typically 20-30 days. I would not start to worry until a few days after 30.

Is she still eating? If she has stopped eating then she may be ready to lay.

You can try to provide her with a large laying bin. Maybe a 20 - 30 gal trash can and setup a private area and leave her in there for a day to see if she shows interest. Make sure she does not see you peaking at her.

You can also try putting a towel up so she can't see out of the cage.

Has anyone tried using a "spycam" or cheap usb cam so you can watch your female dig/lay without the risk of disturbing her?

Thanks for the link but it didnt help me. :(
1. Its hard to tell when they lay them
2. They can do it in both pot or egg laying container.

Im just worried that she layed already.. i thought that you could se when they've dug.. on their hands etc...

Thanks for help, please more if possible.

Yes, I forget who but someone had pics from inside... LOL the digging lady buried the camera with sand if I remember right. I think this might have be Socalison or someone else.

You can peak in really slowly.... you just shouldn't watch... just peak and leave the girl alone.

You guys think she is ready to put in the egg laying container?? gone with the eggs for 27 days, stopped eating, wandering around the whole terrarium.

Don't stress. Both mine laid at 32 days. They will dig when ready. I have also read someone said it took 45 days for his female. Just leave her alone.

It is best to leave them alone. You will notice she is pacing the bottom of the cage... or trying to dig in her potted plant. Be sure to keep an eye out and just move her to an egg laying setup when you feel she is ready.

Have you looked into building an egg laying cage or container?

Ok thanks, im just very stressed out.. Dont want her to get hurt cause of me.. so. thanks for calming me down :). I have a container besides her pot. It is sand and its damp(moistered).
She hasnt dug anywhere yet. Does she leave her holes open if not layed? Do all females dig "test" holes?'

The egg laying container is 45 cm wide, 60 cm long and 60 cm deep. Ok?

NO

Should be

She will do her job just great! Don't stress.

Hi you guys!

Came home today from school and saw my female dug 2 giant holes :) , test holes i think :) Cause she is still fat and the eggs are showing like never before. Should i cover them? or let them be?

Why would you cover a hole that she is digging to lay her eggs in??

When a female digs to lay eggs she may dig some test holes but should settle on one...it may take one day or more than a day of digging until she is satisfied with it...she should then turn around bum down and lay the eggs. After laying them she should fill the hole in and tamp it down and return to the branches.

When the female is digging do not let her see you watching her or she will likely abandon the hole. If it happens often enough it can lead to eggbinding and likely death.

i meant that if i could put her in the container and cover it with a blanket or so :p sorry for bad english. :p

but its best for her to put it without stress

i think aslong as the female cant see you or anything that would disturb her it doesnt matter if the top is open, if she is in her vivarium i would cover the front with a sheet for sure, if she starts digging you will hear her but dont let her see you spying on her, maybe when u cover the cage leave a little gap or cut a hole in the sheet so u can have a look without her seeing u :D good luck m8.

ok thanks all for the help. Now she is digging in a littlepot that is built in to the building foam. And she is digging in to the foam... :S I dont want to disturb her...
