my male veiled turns really dark, almost black. i thought they were supposed to show off their colors when around females. does this mean this mean he doesn't want to mate? when i do it he is in his cage and im holding her outside of his cage and he tries to get out of his cage too

Can you show us some pics of your cham? Turning black at the sight of a mate is a behavior displayed by females, that are unreceptive to mating.

How is the female reacting to the male when she sees him?

My male also turns black, and then he charges the female-who was always receptive and willing. I was suprised also when he did that.

when my female sees him she just sits there, i know she is too young to breed as she is still tiny. do you think you wants to eat her?
