Wheezing!

The baby Chameleon I just got 2 days ago has started opening his mouth and wheezing like he's gasping for air. I feel so very bad and want to help him. I noticed the right nostril is raised and a few bubbles came out earlier. Prior to tosay I saw no signs whatsoever. How worried should I be and what could have caused this?

I have kept temp up during day and down at night. Misting a few times a day. I have noticed the coconut soil in the bottom of the cage is very wet now from all the misting. Was told at petsmart that's what you want so you keep the moisture up but I worry the air is just getting thick and maybe causing this.

Any suggestions?
I am calling vet in the AM and keeping an eye on him tonight

Likely a respiratory infection.
What are the temperatures in the cage?

I would remove the substrate. He could accidentally ingest it and become impacted.

Did you go the vet? Most will prescribe Baytril for a respiratory infection which is what it sounds like. And yes anything that gets wet repeatedly and holds moisture is going to breed bacteria and mold over time. With misting and dripping water, it is inevitable that it is going to happen. If you are using a glass enclosure it will hold in the moisture even worse. That is one of the reason why we say no substrate in the bottom.
