whats up with my chameleon

hey guys long time no see,

anyway my chameleon has been in reseptive mode for some time, now her behavior/colors changed even more from the reseptive coloring, she runs around everywhere over and over, she eats less and wouldnt even eat yesterday, she still drinks as good as she ever did which is a few times daily....

here is kind of crappy pics from my cell phone as she hates my digicam and will dull colors and hide from it if she sees it.

anyway im wondering is she gravid i would assume so, and is this all normal behavior for being in a gravid state...

also when do you think this will end, shes been reseptive for almost over 2 months now

not that i dont enjoy the color scheme but man her behavior is really skidish and has been since this started, she runs from me and wont let me get near her anymore, and she used to not really care when i was around....

Do you have a laying bin in her cage? Because it is so difficult to tell when an non-mated female veiled will be ready to lay her infertile clutch- it is a good idea to have a laying bin ready for her inside the cage so you can see when she begins digging. Even a smallish bin will do. Once you see her digging you can move her to a larger laying bin. The full size laying bin should be at least as wide as she is long, in all directions, and the soil in it about 10 inches deep. I would get her in a laying bin ASAP.

sorry i assume everyone always knows my enclosure i dont know why, but yes i have always had a 5gallon bucket full of eco earth in the enclosure, so about 8 months shes always had something to lay in, i restrict her diet in hopes to keep her from having eggs in accordance to info i got from the kammers...

anyway back to my question please!!

OK. She looks very eggy to me. She is very likely in a breeding phase, and pacing earnestly because her hormones are telling her to find a male. Eventually she will lay the eggs. I would not worry too much about her not eating for 1 day. If she goes without eating for several days, then let us know on this thread. IMHO she has developing eggs which her hormones are telling her to fertilize, and so she is going through a normal breeding phase.

Have you seen her go down to her bin yet? If not, she is probably still looking for a male.

ok cool thanks, no she hasnt wondered to the bucket yet shes went half way down the vine i have running to it but never into the substrate... somehow i figured the runing around was looking for a mate... its kind of nice having her be so active
