What to chams do when hot?

What do chameleons to when they get to hot?
I took Jade outside and she had her mouth open the whole time, until a WASP came up and tried to EAT HER!
Is that normal when hot? And also she was rubbing her eye on a plant I had her on, she was bulging her eye to, I think it was itchy lol.
So is her holding keeping her mouth open normal?

TO help them cool off, chams will open their mouths and gape. so it was too hot for her.
is she shedding? they will rub on things when they have shed on them or when there is something n their eye. not sure abotu her bulging it though.

She might have a foreign object in the turret. Like calcium dust or a piece of dirt. Next time you spray her try and get it in and around the eye area. So she can use the water to flush out the turet. If its still aggravating her. Get some plain saline solution and squirt a stream into the turret to clear any foreign matter.

a turret is the eyelid thing. the round part that surrounds the eye ball.
