Ok so Im almost done with my new cage!! ( promise Ill post pics as soon as its done!!) Anywhos the screen enclosure will be 36 inches wide and almost 5 feet tall. So my question is what size of uvb light fixture should i use. I have the small one now and was wondering if i should get a longer one or should i use a 10.0 bulb instead of 5.0..............Any opinions would be great!! thanks bunches!!

Go for a megaray. Will give you great levels and good deep penetration into your enclosure!

www.reptileuv.com for information

-probably the 160w will be the right size

Do all think I should get a higher watt for basking........Im going to use one corner for basking and have a vine that runs like 8 inches under the bulb. I have a 70watt right now.

I would buy a normal 18" fixture. Then place a single heat lamp near by and place a vine under the two lights at a distance of 6-8" from the lamps. This will be where he will bask for heat and get the UVB rays he needs. If this is a normal window screen material then the 5.0 Zoo Med reptisun will be perfect.

With ambient room temps in the mid 70's to low 80's I have great luck using a 50w spot lamp from Zoo Med.

i think a 70 watt wil work just fine as for the duel top dont like them as much, i would just get a 10.0 and a reflector.

Sound like too much light.

70w spots/floods put out a lot of heat. If the lamp were a nomral bulb then sure, maybe... its not very focused but still pretty warm/hot. with a 75w lamp I burned my veiled . 5w less doesn't do much.

Remember chams don't need the UVB ALL day. They will come and bask at the heat lamp and get the needed UVB and UVA rays they need, as they need them.

I have a thread showing some readings of UVB: Some Readings.

The 10.0 with a reflector will put out a lot of UVB if the screen material is simple household screen, like most cages are made of. You don't need to blast UVB deep down into the cage. Remember, the natural world has a ton of UVB in direct sunlight. mid day you'll get about 250-300 on the meter. Chams don't generally bask in this much UVB. They like to stay lower in the trees and keep in the shade. Morning and late afternoon is when they will come out for some rays of UVB. Local keepers I know who keep chams outside will tell you the chams tend to 'hide' away when the sun is intense. this isn't just to keep cooler, it is to regulate UVB exposure.
