Ok so I have a couple ladders leaning against the house,
A little while back a mother bird built a nest on top and now there is a baby bird nesting in it that has feathers and may be able to fly in the next week or two
The weather service is saying that this hurricane that is coming up the coast is going to have high winds in my area that Im sure is going to blow the ladders over

What would you do?

the nest is just a pile of sticks held together by bird shit, I am not bringing that into the house, bird nests are known for breeding parasites and I have a new baby cham in the house, I just cant risk it

well if they will be blown over no matter what..do you have a shed you can put her and the nest in? put her and the nest in a tote in the garage? call someone to see if they have mean to store her and the nest till the storm is over. you may just have to kick her off her nest. otherwise you may lose your ladder :)

Ok it is a 8 foot ladder, if i had a garage i could put it in there til the storm is over but i dont, i have a shed but in order to get the ladder in the shed the ladder will have to be turned on its side and the nest will fall off, i wonder if i should call dnr

I bet they could manage on their own without your help. At least you let them use your ladder this long. :D

So did it last through the storm?

ok my power finally came back on and I thought I would let everyone know that the ladders stayed strong throughout the entire storm, that is one lucky little bird.
Its mother even kept bringing food to the little guy the day of the storm
