i got a croton plant and it died in like 2 days of sitting in the cage... what kind of plant should i get that wont die in that cage. or should i just get a fake one?

I like to use pothos and umbrellas, just make sure that they have good drainage. The croton can be used as well but do require very good drainage so as not to get overwatered.

when you replanted it did you make sure the soil was nice and firm around the roots? Leaving the soil loose around the roots cause air pockets and will hold water and also bad for the roots. I have killed a many plants shortly after replanting them and I found out that was the reason for it.

I ask because a croton is pretty hardy plant, they can take a good amount of water and lo or alot of light either case they will usually hang in there.

This might help.
I think the choice of the plant is very personal as far as it's safe for the cham.
This is my ficus after 6 months in the enclosure, never being swapped..;)
It's getting new leaves as well

Ficus are nice but just a heads up an umbrella plant is more durable and tolerant of heavy water activity.
