a veiled. looks to be female becuase i dont see spurs; however, if you take a pic of the back foot i can tell for shure. :) welcome to the forums btw.

heres some info on basic care(written quickly and my spelling is rather horriod)- https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/okiroo/532-chameleon-basic-info.html

if that is indeed a female you will need a laying bin when she become gravid someday. a member jannb has a wonderful blog on that and will probally post it when/if she sees the thread

That's her foot. So should I just put like a bowl of dirt on the bottom of her cage?

A clear view of the back of her back foot is the best. Males have tarsal spurs on the hind feet, females don't. She wont need a laying bin until he is mature. She will show yellow-mustardy spots when she is mature. At that point (around 4-6 months old) she will need a laying bin. A pot or bin at least 12 inches deep and 12x8 inches wide/long filled with moist play sand or organic soil will work well.

i mean without the leg hideing the actual back of the foot. if it were a male there would be a little bump on both back feet, if its flat its a female. i still cant be 100% from that photo

"she" is very cute btw :)
