What is a good temperature for my veiled chameleon???

I will be getting a young veiled chameleon this week and I have the cage and everything he needs. I am a little worried about the temperature in the cage, I have a basking lamp that is 75 watts and the cage is about 18.5 by 24.5 tall, has ventilation holes in sides and a screened top, and the ambient temperature stays around 77 to 78 in the tank with the lamp on, is this enough heat for the chameleon or not? I feel I should get a 100 watt basking lamp but I do not want to fry the little guy and I would have to buy a whole different lamp because it only holds so many watts, I'm afraid of it starting a fire if I were to just stick the 100 w bulb in the lamp. Please help!

Another question??

Does anyone have any suggestions ont he type of basking bulb I should use? Can you use just a normal heating light bulb or does it have to be a basking light bulb? What is the best wattage of bulb to use in a cage 18X24 tall?
