What IF you have WELL (Misters)

This is another concern of mine, I am on well, I live in the middle of the country, and are not on city water. I have been buying bottled water, how would I use the mister with not being able to use the well water? How would I hook up this mister to run bottled water through it constantly and would that bottle water recycle at all or a way without getting really expensive and buying a whole darn shipment! lol!!!

The well water is known for turning things yellow -

I know it just keeps getting better with me!!!!

From my experience with well water I wouldn't use it for my chameleons. Using bottled water might get expensive, a reverse osmosis machine may be what you should look into. They are around 100 bucks but they make the purest water!!! They have them.at some home depots or lowes.

You can even plumb your RO/RODI unit stright to the misting pump and always have a supply of water. Don't have to worry about having stale water or running the pump dry. But you have to have a pretty good RODI unit, most filter water at a dribble! lol

I don't want to have to buy both reverse osmosis and a mist king, will this just work? I can put bottled water in it right and it says you can adjust the spray nozzle??

What YOU ALL think..

I've always been on well water while I've had my chams. If your well water has been tested and is safe for YOU to drink, it is OK for your chams. If in doubt, get your well water tested locally. But, it may be high in iron or minerals which will eventually clog your misters, foggers, leave residues on plant leaves, and stain things. An RO filter will be the long term solution for these problems, but if you don't want to get one now, you can use bottled water. And, to keep your foggers and misters clean, you can run a course of vinegar through the systems to remove the mineral deposits. Follow this with a dose of diluted bleach to remove bacteria build up, and rinse the system well before using it. You can remove the mineral build up on your plant leaves with dilute vinegar and good rinsing. So, it will be a matter of how much time and effort you want to spend keeping things clean.

My Well water leaves behind a residue and turns things yellow. I wouldn't drink it because of all the garbage in it. My house is REALLY old, has been gutted and remodeled the well has NOT been changed.

Again, find out what's in your well water by testing it. You can get do-it-yourself kits or get a local water district to test a sample for you. Then you'll know for certain. Stains and residue may not be safety problems, but you won't know until you test. My water here can be orange from iron, sulphury, leave calcium residues too, but it always tests as safe to drink.

Oh, Okay. I will check into that! :D
