tonight when i checked on my velield eggs i saw one out of nine eggs dented, whats wrong with the egg? temp is at 74 f and moist is just under 85, is the vermiculite not moist enough? or what els could it be
im pretty sure that is just a dead egg sometimes they just are not strong enough to survive even iff all is done correct. do not throw it away till it molds but that is my guess is its just a week embrio that didnt make it. jmo
It happens. Some just dent and shrivel when then embryo gives up. That's why in any breeding you can't count them until they hatch! Even then it's not a guarantee because then the neonate has to thrive while out of the egg and they can be lost shortly after hatching too.
