as the title asks... what cham should i buy? what type of chameleon is easiest to maintain a healthy life. my house is a bit older, and doesn't stay a consistent temperature. during the winter

i know personal preference will be most peoples answer, but im sure there is a better answer out there tghan thet

What size cage are you prepared to buy? Adult male veileds and panthers would require a 24"x24"x48" enclosure.

If your house doesn't maintain a steady temp, can you provide enough basking heat with house bulbs? You'll need to provide a basking temp of upper 80's to lower 90's with lower ambient temps throughout the cage and a drop of 10-15 degrees overnight. These chams can tolerate night time temp drops into the upper 50's.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is a personal choice for the start of chameleon keeping. It is rather the choice of the hardiest species and wether they are cb.

As a starter chameleon a captive bred veiled or panther is a good choice as they can be more forgiving on beginner's husbandry mistakes. To an extend, Jackson's are also ok.

The more experience you get, the less hardy species might be an option. I would definitely not advise on a parson for the start.

probably 25x25x48-60. im unable to find a place that sells them at a decent price, so ill probably have to fab it myself
