Well it's official ... we are addicts!

Just picked up the new additions to our household.:D
Skeeta, our little female Meru Jackson with the identity crisis (thanks for the heads-up all those months ago Trace!) has some new step-siblings.
3 Rhampholeon Brevicaudatus Dwarf cuti-pies to be specific.

They have enjoyed a cursery investigation of their new home, happily filled their bellies with some delicious quarter-inchers, and are tucking down for a well deserved night's sleep. We are having a riot!

Will post some photos some time tomorrow.

Man are they cute.:) (Hope Skeeta doesn't get jealous)

Ha,ha, ha ... that's what I told our vet she was, and he said, "nope, Chamaeleo (Trioceros) Jacksonii Merumontanus" (3 inches snout to vent etc.)
Man, now she has to go to a Vet and a SHRINK. (or maybe just a new Vet)
Anyway, her brief falling spell is long gone and she is healthy as a horse. (oh no, a new identity)

New pictures soon, I promise!

Here they are!

Introducing Heckle, Jeckle and Shreeve! They are having a great time crusin around getting to know their new digs. Jeckle is the boldest, climbing all over the place, including the screen on top.:p

And just so Skeeta feels like part of the family, here are some new shots of her too.

you could probably treat withdrawls with another less adicting pet like anoles:D or something.... at least i hope

Woot! Skeeta, you are looking fine. Not horse-like at all!

And just because I'm "that guy"; you've got 2 different species of pygmies there. Jeckle is a male Rieppeleon brevicaudatus and Shreeve and Heckle are a pair of Rhampholeon temporalis.

Cheers,
t

Trace,

You're dead on with the pygmies and as much as I hate to disagree with you, the female jax really looks to me like a female Ch. (T.) j. merumontanus with her horn broken off at the base. Check out the crests, etc.

Chris

The addiction intensifies!

OMG!
A third species already?! Where will this lead? (I can see it now, Luke, Nat and I sleeping in the kitchen, and the bedrooms filled with free-ranging beauties)
Thanks so much for the expertise Trace and Chris (hope I didn't start a feud) ... that's what makes this forum the BEST!
(so are the Brevs and Temps OKAY together?)

I love a good discussion (argument?) on chameleons!

Honestly, when you first posted pics of Skeeta months ago I had hard deciding between the merumontanus and xantholophus for her. Her colours and size are very meru and the broken horn idea did cross my mind. I just think that we would see a bigger horn nubbin there. Perhaps a good shot of her nose to solve the conundrum?

I would separate the pygmies into species. The brevicaudatus can tolerate much higher temperatures than the temporalis and there will be less stress for both of them. You can always find some nice ladies for Jeckle at the show next weekend. :D

Cheers,
