Weight/Appearance Question

Hey Everyone,
I looked through the threads and really couldn’t see any pictures of Male Panthers to reference weight. In the past I’ve been feeding a few crickets every day to every other day, mixing in a couple super worms or hornworms once or twice a week(hornworms less often). I’m trying to perfect my feeding schedule but wanted opinions on weight appearance. I’ve switched to every other day at this point and feeding about 4-6 large crickets. Again with a couple worms thrown in once a week. Does anyone have a “healthy weight” photo of their Panther I can use as a guide?

I don't but I can tell you if his head/casque is puffy then he is overweight, from the pictures I think you could bother to feed a little less like every other day and stop feeding the superworms since they are higher in fat. if you go to the media section you can find a lot of pictures of members chameleons for weight reference. how much does he weigh right now? and how long is he? and is he still growing? its weight in relation to length a healthy adult male can be anywhere from I think its 200-290 grams.

Signs your cham is over weight would include a puffy head (look in the casque and cheeks because that is where a lot of fat pockets lie), a round belly (a chameleon should be angled) and a thick tail (not including the hemipenial bulge

The weight of a cham is going to vary just like in humans. My panther cham weights 140g and is considered a healthy weight for his size. It's recommended to keep chams on the leaner side, since obesity is very real concern. Your cham looks pretty healthy. Maybe a smige rounded in the casque, but that's being picky. I'd recommend on days you're feeding worms, to hold off on the crickets that day.

That’s what I was thinking. Thank you for the quick comment. I’ll cut back on super worms and feeding a little until he thins out. I haven’t weighed him on a scale... he is really fickle. He is just under 1 year old at this point.
