Ways to handle

Hello! I got a 6.5 month old panther chameleon 1 week ago. I have been hand feeding and I have read only handle when they want to come to you. I have started to just lighting touch him one time after I hand feed. Are there any other suggestions you have for me?

This is a great blog. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/building-trust-with-your-chameleon.2396/
Do avoid tong feeding as they can hurt and damage their tongues. I like using silkworms placed on the back of my hand which I hold out towards my cham. They are slow moving and stay on your hand nicely until your cham builds up confidence to grab it. If yours is shy or reluctant, try turning your head and looking away.
I’ve found that even though I must have some of the friendliest panthers chameleons, one which is climbing out to me as soon as I open his door, he hates if I move too far away from his enclosure or leave his room. He gets very stressed and will then spend a few hours hiding from me once I put him back.

When handling chameleons, the most important thing is to allow the chameleon to climb on you. Never pick up a chameleon as an object, you have to climb on you as though your hands or arms are a tree or bush branch. That is the most important thing I have found about handling chameleons.
