wax, oil, and paint?

as you may know I'm building my veiled another cage. it is being made out of wood and so I need a sealant to make sure the wood doesn't rot over time. I have paste wax, some cutting board oil (that is okay for food) and various stains but im not sure if any of this is safe for chameleons?

You want good old water based polyurethane. Once dried its safe enough for you to eat off of, so its safe for the cham to drink off of

Yup. Thats the good stuff with UV stabilizers. Still great for counter tops etc.


Urethane is the plastic resin that will seal the wood. Spar means its rated for outdoors and flexible wood. The only down side to spar is stain snobs dont like to use it on furniture cuz it yellows
