Watermark

Watermark or not?

I've just found two of my photos for sale on the internet.
I can think of no other alternative than to watermark my pics as from now. :(
Please PM me if you ever need a copy of the original for own use.

Would you be willing to post a link to the location where you found your photos? In my experience, where there is one, there is usually more and a number of individuals here on the forum have had a lot of problems over the years with people taking their images.

Hi Chris, I have given my word to the perpetrator that I would not publish his name on condition that he removes my photos from his list.
He has removed them.
I agree that in future these thieves should be named and shamed.

it would be nice if we could incorperate a program that puts a "chameleonforums" water mark also just underneath showing uploaded by "yourname" on 00/00/0000

i know of a few of those dating sites that have that function set up so pictures cannot be stolen and used to make fake profiles...food for thought..

It's a horrible thing to do to a photo but there just doesn't seem to be an option.

keep one for yourself with no watermark that will always be yours on your websight. than when you post places on the internet throw a little watermark on them. :)

agreed, the last thing you want is an ugly water mark messing up the pure untampered photo..but..its like having a nice home..you gotta keep it locked and even tho that "brinks home security sign" is ugly it deters theives

This would definitely be the solution if possible.

Yes, I'll have the originals but when I finally shoot a killer photo the forum members will be subject to a great ugly watermark across it.
Also, any photo submitted to the photo competition would be up for grabs.
