Hey guys, I picked up this little guy in January and was told he was 100% blue bar ambilobe and 4 months old. His name is Bowser. He's now approaching 8 months but looks very different from just about every other picture i've seen of ambilobes at this age. I was kind of worried that he might be a bit small for his age and has only shed twice since I've had him, but he's active, eating and drinking like a champ so maybe the concern is unwarranted. Do you think he might be some kind of cross or another species all together? It could just be that he's a late bloomer on the coloring, but he seems to have a lot more cool blues, an overall icy whitish color when active and red speckling. His reds just started appearing with his last shed a few days ago, but i see no hints of orange, yellow, or lime green you'd typically expect to see in an ambilobe. Either way, I'm really impressed with the colors he's starting to show, they just don't look like what I was expecting at all.

your thoughts?

Here are a few more photos from when I got him until now.. I lied about getting him in January, I guess it was actually around Feb 8, so I guess he's closer to 7 months instead of 8. But here are the photos chronologically. It's amazing how this guy has thrown me a curveball with his colors every step of the way

Good looking cham either way!

yeah he's definitely a handsome fella, i'm just curious to see what people think as far as locale goes.. he's just got different tones and patterns than i've seen on most ambilobe pictures i've compared
