Was told my cham was a male, just making sure.

I was informed that my cham, "Chama" is a male but I thought I would ask you guys just to make sure :)

Sorry but you have a female there! The males have tarsal spurs on their back feet, and the females do not. Also, by the age of your chameleon, if it were a he he would be much more colorful and have various patterns also.
 
Thanks! Now i have a full size male cage, damn... I should have waited. Now I have to get a female cage. Well I guess now I have an excuse to get a second cham. I was looking at male panthers :3

My girlfriend has a new name for Chama, Squeaky. :)

I am not great at guessing the age so much. Pics can sometimes be deceiving and every chameleon is not always the same size at a given age. That being said, I am guessing maybe 8-10 mos or so. As far as the cage, it is ok to put a female in a male size cage. Nothing wrong with giving them as much room as possible. Also, you are going to have to put a laying bin in the cage so you will need something with some room to do so. I am guessing you are aware about the females laying infertile eggs?

That is true Im going to the reptile convention this weekend and getting her a laying bin and some more live foliage to help her. THANKS :)
