I have a 5 month old nosey be ambilobe mix male I have noticed him being on the bottom of the cage. He loves coming out always friendly. He was eating alot up until the past month. I know their eating habits slow down so I'm wondering if that's what it is. He's hydrated his poop looks good. I was wondering if anybody else had a chameleons that walks on the bottom of their cage sometimes. His basking temperature is in between 85 and 90 degrees. The lower side of his cage is 70 to 72 degrees. I always does his food with calcium without D3 mostly and multi vitamin D3 every other Sunday like you're supposed to. I was just wondering if this is around the time when they're eating slows down I feed him a wide variety of feeders I feed hornworms silkworms black soldier fly larvae crickets superworms as many different things as I can find I was thinking about trying roaches but I'm not a huge fan of them. If anybody can give me any insight just let me know thank you I'll put some pictures on to. He's in a 2 foot by 2 foot by 4 foot reptibreeze he has a mister system that goes off 4 times a day a drip system that goes most of day 12% UV because the cage is over 36 inches tall I was just wondering if I should start trying to feed him every other day

Very handsome boy. My only thought with the slowed appetite could be either an incoming shed or maybe he's bored with the feeders you're giving him. Might be time to switch them up. According to the care sheets on here, once he hits 6 months, you can feed every other day.

I feed a ton of different feeders. I even been hatching Phoenix Worms and letting them fly around and they eat them in not sure what else I could try. I may try to find some roaches and see if he likes them. My female has no problem she's a little fatty lol. I don't know what else to try though phoenix worms silkworms hornworm superworms crickets wax worms.when it gets warmer I'm going to try to catch some katydids of that's how you spell it lol. What else can I try?

As far I know, some panther cham will wondering around the cage on its own, since he is in that cage all day n night...if your weather allows you to take him out for some natural sunlight,it probably will be better for him under your supervision.
He is a beautiful cham cant wait to see his colors comes in full, good luck with your Nosey be.

How do you hatch the phoenix worms? I've got a shipment of those coming in tomorrow, and I'd like to give my guy a couple of flies to chase.

I will suggest not to feed him every other day since he is only a 5month old,let him eat to grow into his full size right now he is still a junior, wait till he become a fully grown adult size, then you can feed him every other day.

Try a smaller "snack" one day and a full meal the next.

As for roaming the cage floor, he may be patrolling his turf now that he's feeling secure and the king.;)

Yeah I love taking him out and letting him roam bit haven't been able to much yet. It's stop cold in maryland. But 90%of nice days they each get at least 30 mins of outside time. My male is out of how cage at least A hour or 2 a day because he likes coming out and climbing on the curtains and plants in my living room. The Phoenix worms will hatch right out of the cup. I just leave the ones that turn black and hard on there and on a few days you have what look like little wasp but aren't. Then throw them in for a great treat lol. He roams the cage like a mall cop looking for action haha. I can't wait to see what he looks like either I'm so excited
