Waking up on the wrong side of the branch...?

Every day when my cham (panther) wakes up, he seems really angry. He's puffed up and gaping - sometimes opening all the way up, like a yawn. He's like this for about 5 minutes every morning. Is there something wrong, or is he just not a morning person? :p

I have two panthers that are slow starters in the morning, but they don't get that "agressive" i guess you could say. Just curious, how many hours are your lights on and off?

On for 14, off for 10. (It corresponds to how much light is coming through my windows, so if I adjusted it any to like 12-12 I don't think he'd be getting any more sleep.)

I'm no expert but it doesn't sound like a health issue. I would assume from my limited experience its just a personality trait. Like you said, not a morning panther.

Have you tried giving him a cup of coffee to help him wake up? jk It does sound like he just doesn't like morning. If it were a health issue, it would not go away every day after a few minutes.

My adult male panther has the same routine every morning. It takes him a while to warm up and then he lets out a big yawn, puffs up as big as he can get and then does this stretching thing like twisting to one side and then he shakes like he got a chill in his ear, LOL! It's normal, at least for my guy.
