All right thank for the helpTo much A can be bad. They can overdose on it. I personally believe a little is ok for them and the best way to provide it to them is with a regular biweekly or monthly light dusting of the feeders with Reptivite.
To be clear on vitamin A, prefixed vitamin A (preformed A) is stored in the cham because it is in a form that is readily available for use, and when too much is stored it becomes toxic. Beta carotene is proformed vit.A which takes energy on the chams part to convert to a usable form and all excess is excreted, therefore no toxic levels occur. This is without going into whether or not chameleons can convert beta carotene into a usable form or if they can convert enough of it. Current thought is they may need some preformed vit A.To much A can be bad. They can overdose on it.
