I noticed that my 8 month(about) old veiled has lost the fingernails on one of his front feet. Nothing is infected and i supplement pretty regulary .have basking basking spots and foliage but I'm sure there isn't enough stuff in the cage for him to roam on. He's really well tempered and hand feeds but I see him a lot climbing on the fine mesh and assume he lost nails from that? I want natural branches in there, clean with something anti bacterial and bake at 250 for 30 min right? I'm planning on getting him a full size cage but I think I just need more branches for right now. Is that the correct way to cure branches?
Also, will his nails grow back :(

That is the correct way to clean the branches/vines yes.
I just get them from outside, and spray them off well, thats it.
Its possible that it was the screen mesh he lost it on.
Do you have a pic of his setup?

Ya, I just grabbed some branches that should be good size for him at work. There's a lot of woods there that I know isn't "sprayed". I'll probably just wash them with antibacterial soap pretty good and just bake for a little while. Does it stink up house?! Lol Ill have to post pics later, his cage is 24 x 12x18 I'm definitely am going to get a full size in the next couple weeks. I feel bad about his nails :/ I hope it doesn't get infected, I keep his environment very clean

If you have some antibiotic ointments(like the clear stuff, not a white cream) you can put that on the damaged area to help keep infection away.
I hear it stinks up the house:p
Ive never tried it though.
Let me know I guess!;)

Like neosporin? Lol I'll look into that. I just need to get him something bigger , he's eating like a horse and want him to be happy. Ya I'll prob just wash cause the branches in cage from breeder were from outside where no pesticide is and I haven't noticed any problems

Yes, like neosporin;)
Just take a little and apply it to any wounded area. If anything looks like an open wound or pussy, that is severe, and you will need a vet.

Also, to answer a question I overlooked:
Their nails wont grow back if its broken off to far in.
Somtimes they can, if they have enough of the nail left.
There are many chams missing some or all of their nails though, and they do fine.

Yes I think one of them does look like a tiny pussy lol just the exact spot where the nail came out either last night or this morning. When I get home from work if it looks like you describe I'll take to vet Monday. Have to find a good vet that knows reptiles, in my experience with other exotics and dogs most vets are scams lol thanks for the info, hopefully he'll be ok

What I do is soak them in HOT water, then wash them with antibacterial soap and bake them for 30 minutes. I never had any problems with diseases or anything like that.
