Veiled's veil shedding for a month

Not sure what is going on but the veil on my chameleon has been shedding for a while now and I'm not sure why. Really stumped. Any thoughts on what could be going on?

My veiled always has a little shed somewhere- usually on his casque. Since I had always owned panthers, who don't just shed, they "explode", I was worried at first too. My vet says it is common for veiled chams, sometimes I give him a lukewarm misting if it is in a place that I that seems bothersome. Pretty chameleon, shed head or not!
