I am getting a baby soon and was unsure if I wanted to try and shoot for a male or a female? Is there any difference in care? Is one more tolerant than the other? Post up your pics of your v. chams if you can. Thanks!!

I would say for your first I would get a male, just for the purpose as you do not need to worry about egg laying and so on.... However the males will get much larger than the females and sometimes more aggressive, but this is animal to animal...

I was thinking the same thing (although this wont be my first) that a female I will have to worry about egg laying but they are usually more handleable.
I lost a female to being egg bound (when I was 19, 10 years ago). Well the ER talked me into surgery and if I knew then what I know now... I would have put something for her to lay her eggs in. Needless to say she did not make it and I had one freaking gigantic vet bill.
I am still up in the air. I have a grumpy panther male already??? Not sure???

males get bigger and more colorful. from personal experience, i think they have more personality also. plus you dont have to mess with egg laying. i'd say get a male.

females are nicer and they lay fewer eggs when not bothered with a male presence.

unless you want a show off pet -then the answer is clear.
