Today I got rid of my horrible wood vivarium my 4 month veiled chameleon was being kept it. I got rid as it was warping with spraying 3 times a day and got him a 2 foot by 2 foot and 3 foot mesh screen by zoomed. (Will get a bigger one when he gets older)
Anyway in his old cage his heat was always 85F and this never changed. Today when I put him in his new cage he started gaping at 85F
wondered why he didn't gape before at 85F but is in a mesh cage??
I turned it down to 76F and has stopped, is 76F enough for a veiled? My panther is in a screen cage and at 85F and doesn't gape. Both chams basking light is on the mesh.
