So I've had him home for about 4 hours now and he has explored the entire enclosure and has been basking a bit also. He walked down to the bottom of the cage and started eating some spilled soil on the paper towel, then started chewing on the corner of the paper towel. I'm new to their actions, but this seems odd.
I gave him 5 crickets in a dish up in the middle of the cage and he scrambled on those like he hasn't eaten in days. Then he goes back down for some more dirt. I let a couple crickets loose in the enclosure and he hunted them down, but isn't interested in the crickets in the dish.

Maybe I'm just freaking out because I'm afraid he is really stressed out
Any help will be appreciated

i use nothing on the bottom i hate paper towel for this very reason and dirt can cause problems too. remove the towel and cover the soil with large sized river rocks so he cant get at it.
