veiled chameleon question

I have a baby veiled chameleon and when it gets big enough I'm going to build it a larger cage. If I make a cage that's around 6ft tall is it possible to keep a turtle or tortuous in the same cage- because chameleons tend to stay at the top and the turtle or tortuous are strictly on the ground. If not, how big of a cage do u need to store the two?

No.............

No for the reasons above....also for the possibility of spreading certain things like Salmonella. Chameleons do go down to the bottoms of their cages. You also don't want chameleon poop landing on your tortoise's head.

you can forget putting them together...thats already ruled out. Dont you think that even if they do live in peace, the tortoise/turtle won't have enough space to move around in. They are reptiles that do require an ample amount of space you know.

good toughts

what about a full room enclosure like 12x14.. (not saying I'm willing or able to make one at the moment) but just for reference

Why?

Why are you so set on having them be together? There are not any good reasons to do it. Not one that I can think of. So do what is best for each particular species..........

Damien, Regardless the size of the cage, the different species simply require different enviroments mate, It would be very hard and very costly to re-create suitable enviromental conditions fort two very different species, without the enviroment of one negatively effecting the other.
Even an entire room converted will still need to be divided, effectively two enclosures anyway.

The image below contains 5 turtles, a chameleon and two tree frogs apparently. See if you can see how things might go wrong and how its now unsuitable for all of them.
