These are whats left of my eggs from sept 21/11

Just wondering if they look alright or not, i started with 66 and now down to 58, some went green and moldy

Thanks is it normal for 8 eggs to go bad? especially 3 eggs 4.5 months in?

Eggs look healthy. Nice white coloration. I noticed some "sweating" around the sides of your container. This indicates too much moisture inside. Just wipe it off with a paper towel and keep an eye out for more. I check moisture levels regularly. Poke a finger into vermiculite and it should be moist...never dry or wet. If it is too dry, then, add a few drops of water around outer edge of your container. Never pour water directly onto eggs. You will be able to see the eggs grow slowly over the months. As for your second question, yes, it is normal to lose a few eggs here and there. Sometimes I lose a bunch and sometimes none at all. Best of luck to you!

My egg containers have always had beads of moisture on them and on the underside of the lid too....I've never wiped them off and I have close to 100% hatch rate. If the substrate starts out with the right amount of moisture (only a drop or two of water can be squeezed from a fist full of it) then what you have is an ecosystem...so there should be no need to wipe the water off. Just my own opinion.

Thanks I do check the moisture of the substrate regularly and it is not wet or dry! I havent wiped off the water on the sides because i think it keeps the substrate at a correct moisture without me having to add water or anything. They have been incubating at 70-76 for 4.5 months now
