my man cheech is about 3 1/2 months old, bought him at an expo here in MD. I noticed sometime after bringing him home that he makes a strange "squeak" or sighing sound. it sounds as though he's breathing really deeply, or he is irritated. i am not sure at all and would appreciate any and all advice!

Most chameleons can hiss and gnarl to threaten other chameleons or you as keeper. May sound like a deep breath sometimes, too. If he makes those noises permanently even while breathing and keeping calm, it could be a sign for a respiratory disease and you should go to see a vet as soon as possible.

My Chameleon's both take deep breath's. They inflate their body then exhale quickly which creates a "sigh" sound. Just like us humans do.

If its just that on the odd occasion I wouldnt worry. But if your Chameleon is showing signs of breathing problems then it needs to be checked out by a vet.

he doesn't do frequently enough to say all the time, but enough to where i became concerned. i'm new to owning a chameleon, so i figured i would check the forums before running up the bill by seeing the vet.
