uvb light vs sun

i want to know what are the advantage of the sun being better?
can i leave my chameleon outside all day til sunset and then bring him inside so put him to sleep?

i live in los angeles so the temp here is very warm for my panther.

I am not sure what the specifics are but anything natural is better than artificial. Think of breast milk and the fake stuff they make for babies!! lol you can leave your chameleon out as long as the temps don't get too hot, There is a shaded area, for him to get out of the sun, you have a constant water supply for hydration, and you are 100% sure your cage is predator proof and you are sure no one will tamper with the cage and steal him!. I would say if you could meet all that criteria then it would be ok.

I too live in LA area & although temps are warm I would not just leave him out all day because we are warm one day & cold the next your cham can either get too warm or too cold. I am out most mornings for 2 to 4 hours but I have to constantly gauge temps and make adjustments of misting or rearranging them depending on their temps so I would not recommend that

i wasn't thinking of it getting too cold! It is 85 degrees here in Florida. We are sweating our butts off. And humid as hell too!

here somedays its very cold & others its warm yesterday & today was great although in shaded areas it was a little chilly & the next few days it supposed to get cooler until rain on the weekends. The weather here is so up & down in my opinion they really have to be monitored
