At the mo im using a 5.0 UVB its in a single canopy, the viv is 4ft high. I'm going to buy a new canopy this week, i've been told i should buy a double canopy and put two 5.0 UVB bulbs in but i think i should have a triple one. What do you think and what bulbs should i get??

you can just get this
http://exo-terra.com/en/products/light_cycle_unit.php

and put a zoomed reptisun 5.0 for UVB & 2.0 for full spectrum light

p.s. do you have a compact UVB bulb, if so you need to get rid of it right away and replace it with a linear bulb

yeah its cool and all.. but how beneficial would it be just having the tubes on top of your cage? its not that sturdy, (if a bulb breaks?) theres no reflector...i dont know.. wouldnt it just be cheaper to find a double tube fixture at home depot? i went to mine today and they sold 36" T8's for liek 25$ with enough wattage for the linear tubes.

i've heard some things about zoo-med. but its all preference into what you put into your setup. as far as knowing its a 5.0 or not and safe plants is what i base it on. right now in her 38g flexarium i am running the exo-terra canopy with a 5.0 and it has been doing nothing but working perfect for me. if got one on my cham cage and my crestie gecko cage, and my gf uses it on both of her cham cages. i am however building a new cage and will be upgrading the whole light systems. i will be using the 36" 5.0 reptiGLO by exo along with a 36" 2.0 reptiGLO. exo shows their wave length chart and am confident in their product in terms of lighting. exo is give or take. but thats it with alot of products, there are some products zoomed makes that didnt quite cut it as good as an exo brand. just my opinion, and an opinion counts ;)
