I think the buzzing of the UV light in my zoo-med hood is bothering my veiled cham. has anyone every observed problems like this before?? if so what kind of hood would you suggest to replace it?

Also... it started getting cold recently so i bought a Exo Terra Heat Glo Infrared bulb. i turned it on last night for him before i went out. when i came home at about 2-3am he was wide awake basking under it. I guess my question is whats the best way to keep a cham warm at night without disturbing their sleep cycle??

Sorry for the redundancy on this forum... i just realized my question about red heat lamps was answered only a couple of posts back

Thanks!

I had this issue with a small lamp I was using. It would buzz relay loud and not light well in the center. It was old so I think it was just not working well, and it was a cheap plastic one that couldn't be fixed easily.

I think what your problem is, as long as your bulb isn't old, is that you need a new starter. They are very cheap and pretty easy to install. You can ask for one at the store or just go looking for something that looks like this: Starter.

Hopefully this will fix your problem. We have replaced these in fixtures around my house, and it has always worked.
