I am using repti bark and the crickets are hiding in it. Should I change to paper towels. Also the chameleon is sitting in one spot in the cage, and not going over to the UVB light

Hi there welcome to the forum. Can you post pics of your entire enclosure lights down?

If you are just using repti bark on the bottom and not bio active then yes you want to remove it. It is also an impaction risk for the chameleon. If he grabs a cricket with a piece of the bark. You want a bottom clear of all substrate so its easy to clean.
