Urate with no poop?

Is this ok? My little guy was right in front of me and only peed with no poop is that normal? At least the urate was nice and white.

Yeah, it's probably ok. I take it you normally see both together? Sometiems they do just produce a urate with no poop. Sometimes Amy will do both in the morning then produce another little urate in the afternoon. It could also be that the poop part is stuck on a leaf and you haven't seen it - both parts don't always end up in the same place!;)

Ok great my main concern was possible impaction because my cham did its thing right in front of me and it looked like it was squeezing an awful lot for just some urate to come out. But other than that squeeze it appears nice and healthy and has just learned to cup feed today after two weeks of moving the cup around and around to find just the right spot. I guess it just had to pee.

What makes you concerned about impaction? Has your cham eaten something it shoudn't have? Or have you been feeding mealworms?

Nope hasn't been fed anything but 1/8" crix and D. Hydei ff's but like I said I was watching him and he squeezed really hard then a little urate came out well I guess it was the typical amount you would see attached to feces. I don't know maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Yes, if eaten in large quantities they can cause a blockage in the intestines. Mealworms have a tough 'chitinous' exo-skeleton which is difficult for the cham to digest in large quantities. That is why it is recommended that mealworms are fed sparingly and as treats rather than be used as a staple food item. Amy loves them too, but she only gets a couple every few weeks as a treat and then I only give her the newly moulted white ones.

Super worms are a better alternative than mealwomrs as they have more meat to them, but make sure that your cham is big enough to eat them!
