Upper respiratory infection...what should I expect?

Barry, my baby veiled, was looking under the weather so I suspected he may have an uri. I took him to a vet that specializes in exotic animals and they confirmed exactly what I had expected. It took them a while to play with the numbers since he only weights 1.8 oz but they figured out a dosage and added some watermelon flavoring so I could start him on antibiotics. We are now on day 4 of a 14 day antibiotic. For the first 3 days I had to "force feed" him because he wouldn't touch any food. (We were extremely gentle since he is incredibly tiny.) Today he FINALLY ate on his own. I'm guessing that's an indication that he may be getting better but I'm not sure. He shed almost his entire body today while we were out of the house but his eyes are still looking a little mucus-ie. Is this normal? Anyone have experience with antibiotics before...does it sound like they're working? He doesn't seems to be gasping as often but this is my first experience with a sick reptile so I'm still extremely concerned.

I'm sorry to here about your baby veiled. What antibiotic is he on? What temps do you keep him at?

He's on 0.02mL of Enroflox once a day. I try to keep his basking area between 85-90 F. The room which his habitat is in is always minimum 70 but usually closer to 75F. We have multiple reptiles so its easiest if we just keep their room over 70 so that we don't have to worry about temperature ever falling dangerously low (light bulb blowing or heating fixture going out while we aren't home). As far as his enclosure goes....outside of the basking area seems to maintains 78-83ish fairly well. Like I said....this is my first chameleon so I'm not exactly sure if I'm doing this all right (actually...I'm sure I'm not). We've also got an iguana, a bearded and some anoles who are all thriving...growing like weeds and (the iguana and the bearded) have gotta thumbs during their vet check ups. I'm just not sure how I'm missing the mark with my chameleon. :-(
