Upgrading to larger cage soon!

Hey everyone!

I want to upgrade Jaspers cage soon to a 2x2x4' enclosure. Right now he's living in a 18"x18"x36". Jasper is a 6-7 month old Panther Chameleon. I've only had him for about 2 weeks, so i'm definitely not moving him to a bigger cage anytime soon. But as a heads up i'd like to know what i would need to make the upgrade.

My question is would i have to upgrade any of my lights? Mister? Anything?

My current light set up is a 75w ReptiGlo basking Lamp w/ 5.5" clamp lamp and a 18" reptiglo 5.0 UVB bulb w/ 20" hood. Would i have to upgrade to a 10" clamp lamp? Bigger UVB hood/light?

My misting system is a MistKing starter kit. Just has one misting nozzle, so would i need to upgrade to a dual misting nozzle?

I also plan on adding allot more foilage and live plants. I'll eventually move Jasper into the bigger enclosure in a month or 2. Even debating if i should wait till after the winter passes so he's warmer in his current enclosure. BUT i'm afraid he'll be too big for his current cage lol.

I would go with a longer UVB light and if you are changing the Reptisun 5.0 is the way to go.

Sounds good, figured i'd need a new uvb light w/hood. Thanks!

Build your own cage =D To me it feels more rewarding! Right now my boy is in a 24inx30inx48in.... Even though he prefers to be out of his cage looking for females  He loves it! Just need some more vines in there https://www.chameleonforums.com/new-cage-build-89761/

I would make my own, but i just started school so I wouldn't really have the time to do it. Yours looks great! Maybe i'll do a few sketches here and there and make a 3D model in Rhino lol. Actually, that doesn't sound too bad!

If he just sits in the middle you can continue using the 18" with hood. However mine likes to hang out on the edges (one for sleeping spot, one for looking out window spot) and without a 2ft lamp he would be getting half the light.

Another idea would be a 3-4ft light running length wise.

Couldn't agree anymore my dude loves his cage. I think it helped him warm up to me to he can't get enough of me now

we'll see, maybe i'll start a project. My cham seems fine in his cage so far, but he does love me when i free range him outside.

He really hangs out in his basking perch then goes up to his uvb perch throughout the day.

Think i'll get the 24" w/ 30" hood if i decide to build my own enclosure. Thats atleast $70 bucks for the new light set up. Hey...Maybe i'll get another cham since i'll have a large cage w/lighting :D

HD or Lowes will have a light fixture for cheap as far as the light goes look around on the sponsors page I can't remember the site but one of them has the lights for a fair price.
