Howdy David,
I'm assuming that you are referring to his casque being a little "sunken in". If everything else is about his health fine then that isn't an issue.
I'm always looking for better info on just what is stored there. Fat and/or liquid is most often mentioned. I also wonder if there is ever any link between disease and excessive retention. We see examples of healthy chameleons with virtually empty storage and others that appear to be just as healthy with puffed-out casques. Personally, I'm the least worried about their looks when it is about half full (or half empty
). I've convinced myself that having some stored fat cold give some safety margin if an animal develops an unrelated illness and can't/won't eat for an extended period. On the other hand, it may also be a sign that excessive fat may be attacking the liver and other organs susceptible to obesity....

Looks great to me. Nicely proportioned and pretty plump head, actually, for a female.

She looks pretty good to me. Her eyes look good. Her limbs look good too. Things look pretty filled out without being obese or distorted. If she eating well and acting normally I think things are fine. Is there something else going on that makes you think something is not right with her? I don't really see anything about her casque that bothers me. Nice colors too

Sometimes they get tired of the same-old-same-old and hold out for something new. Could that be it?
Does she show receptive coloration? Perhaps she's wanting a mate?
My sister is a registered nurse and says that she learned in college that it is normal, throughout the animal kingdom, almost without exception, for members of every species to occasionally fast and purge. That pet owners should not be concerned when a pet does not eat for a day or so, if everything else appears normal. Don't know if this is necessarily true of chameleons, though.
