ok so i bought a new digital hygrometer/thermometer last night, and set it up this morning, my old gauge (not digital was reading 40 dry and got up to 70-80 when misting) the new one though read 20 dry, 20 while misting and didnt even change a bit, moved it to the adjacent side of the cage, 30 dry, and raised to 37 after a nice long mist, was my old gauge off that much? or do digitals take some time in the cage to get adjusted....and if it is correct and my humidity is getting that low, some tips for raising it?? (have 2 sides of cage blocked off with a shower curtain, mist 3-5 times a day depending, bout 5 mins each)

Live plants are great for it. I also have taken to adding a deep tub of water beneath the cage with a aquarium filter to keep it moving, on the same timer as the lights (summer experiment) so far its boosting the ambient humidity well (atleast through the bottom half of the cage (4ft tall screen). Though its humid here in summer, Air conditioning drys the air and screen cages arnt easy anyway. (in winter, heating drys the air aswell)
Between live plants and mistings you should get it atleast 40% ambient and higher after misting the heck out of it.
They dont need it like tropical jungle all the time anyway, mostly its dry for the most part. High humidity all the time will cause worse issues than too low.
If your cham drinks well and is hydrated (white urates), then just mist more when you notice it shedding. :)
