Trying to eat dirt

So I recently got some more love plants and I notice my veiled cham keeps trying to eat the dirt. I have it covered with rocks but he just keeps trying through the little cracks and what not.

I read that it could mean hes craving some sort of mineral. Should I be giving him more? Is their some sort of powder besides calcium that would help?

They tend to just do this, as long as the dirt is nice small particles and no choking hazards shouldn't be anything to worry about
