My veiled chamelion has been acting different lately i thought she had eggs but that wasent it and then yesterday i saw some mucus on the inside of her mouth so i thought it must be a respitory infection:(so i took her to the vet today and it turns out thers nothing wrong with her!! He said she was very healthy and everything i was doing was right and it cost me 50 quid to find this out:mad:so has anyone got any idea why she has been getting lots of purple/blue spots? Is she stressed? And what could be making her stressed if the vet says that my temps are right and the humidy is right and im dusting using the right things what could it be?...he did say i could raise her basking spot a degree or two but surely that cant be the problem...maybe its me lol any ideas??

Hi Stacey! How did your vet test for an RI? And dud they do an X-ray to see if there was any eggs? You can't always feel eggs and excess mucus is usually a sign that something's up.

The colours your seeing could mean that she's reaching sexual maturity. Mode female veileds will get orange and blue patterns when they come of age but I have seen others with different pink/purple patterns around the net.

If she is coming of age then it's normal for her to be a bit off, it's like chameleon puberty :)

I dont know what he did!! He took chamelia into a little room and came out 10 minutes later, he said that she definetly does not have a respitory infection! It must have been excess salyva in her mouth and he said that he felt for eggs and couldnt feel anything that she was very healthy:) i hadent even thought of that lol she is about 6 months old could that be it??

Yes at six months she could be getting her bug girl colours :) would love to see a picture of her!

Chamelia looks really great! What a beauty! I'm betting she's hitting puberty which means nobody else will get to use the bathroom, she'll sleep ALL day, She's gonna be crabby and unreasonable, she'll start wearing lots of makeup and the days of playing with dolls are over...she'll want the boys now! :D

ps - how do you know I have a teenage daughter? lol
