hiya,
I have just got my first chameleon, got the viv all set up. My basking spot is set to between 80F and 90F as my boy is still a baby, about three months. My humidity is 50% to 60% . My two questions are 1. Are my temps and humidity right? and 2. Is repti bark ok for the bottom, i have some kitchen roll under a dish where my dripper is?
Any oppinions or advice will be greatly received,
Thanks

Most will say no bark and I agree. It is a pain to clean, can cause impaction if ingested, and harbors all kinds of bacteria. The basking temp may be a little on the high side for a baby cham but the humidity looks good.

Thankz guys

Thanks guys
I'm gonna turn my thermostat down to 80F but when do I turn it back up? I'm also gonna remove the bark and just have the glass.

You can line the bottom of the viv with paper towels if you like. No substrate makes cleaning up easier too! I have sealed an offcut of tile effect vinyl flooring in the bottom of my vivs - it looks good and is easy to keep clean too!

It looks like you have a Yemen/Veiled cham from your avatar. With regards to temps - females should be kept in the low 80's for life (this will help to limit egg production along with controlled feeding), and once males get to 6 months or so you can increase the temps gradually as males can be kept warmer.
